Welcome to Saitama City! 

Saitama City is located just 30 minutes by train from Tokyo. With a population of more than 1.3 million and about 27 thousands of which are foreigners (as of March 2020), it is one of the biggest cities in Japan. 

Saitama City is made up of 10 wards and each ward has its own distinctive features ranging from the metropolitan area to the abundant nature of Minuma Tambo (rice paddies). Transportation is convenient, providing access to 6 shinkansen train lines, our city is the gateway to Eastern Japan.

The city is also the mecca of bonsai along with a long history of Japanese ningyo doll making. We are also a host venue for basketball and soccer/football in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
